Welcome to our Woodland Getaway!

Thank you for considering our newly renovated property, the Woodland Getaway! We think you’ll find this unique and special spot will exceed your Mendocino Coast vacation dreams. Our journey started in early 2023 when our longtime friends and your super hosts let us know that this unique property was available...and just around the corner from their house. We fell in love with the generous space that allows for sunlight and warmth, while still being completely nestled in the Redwoods, and together had a vision for bringing the property back to life and creating this woodland getaway.

The main house was originally built in the 1950’s and, along with the cottage, has been lovingly updated to provide our guests with all the modern conveniences while maintaining the original charm of yesteryear. During this journey, we also learned how much the forest gives back! So many of our renovations, including the bathhouse, veranda, extra-long picnic table, tent platform and deck extensions were built using lumber from the cleared trees. We even used stumps or smaller felled trees for retaining walls, natural steps, and even some of our tent poles!

Our goal was to create a truly indoor-outdoor experience to gather with friends and family, play games inside or on the lawn, or just soak in (literally - in the jacuzzi or claw-footed hot tub) nature, all year-round.. The recently installed TimberTent and relocated outdoor fire pit, which was original fixture on the property, make for magical evenings under the stars. Lastly, we also encourage folks to explore the fern glen and year round creek that winds its way through the woods. When you host your next gathering on this magical, private two acre property, you’ll be sure to create lingering connections and lasting memories for all!
